Just when you think you’ve scrolled every summer fashion brand imaginable, up pops a new one that restores your love of a romantic summer dress. Cue, the new slew of seasonal brands we’re loving: Pink City Prints, Albaray and Gingham Palace. While all have a slow fashion ethos, being considered is not their only attribute, rather a nice bonus to the fact that they make supremely good summer dresses. We noticed how both Albaray and Gingham Palace excel at a square neck, which is always a flattering shape when the mercury rises. Read up on the brands below.

What: Albaray – the British, self-dubbed ‘thoughtful’ fashion brand. Pieces are made from Ecovero, a sustainably-made form of viscose, as well as responsibly-sourced cotton that’s GOTS-certified. 

Shop: Gingham and floral dresses galore. Our vote goes for the Shirred Waist Check Dress (pictured above), a romantic summer dress made from deadstock that’s also bra-friendly.

What: Pink City Prints – a vibrant collection of printed pieces, handmade in India and designed by Glasgow School of Art graduate Molly Russell. The aim is to preserve the traditional crafts of India’s pink city, Jaipur.

What: Gingham Palace – the Spanish slow fashion brand, made by a mother-daughter duo, that champions all things check.

Shop: The lilac gingham Trifle button down gingham dress, is a scene-stealing summer dress, while the gingham pyjamas that come replete with ric-rac trim are good enough to wear outdoors.
