The next few weeks are the optimum time for wearing a heavy blazer as outerwear. Team with your favourite jeans and a pair of mesh ballet flats. Feeling the chill? Throw an XL scarf into the mix.
Easy and versatile, a grey knit is a saving grace this time of year, especially when paired with a great pair of jeans and accessorised with a leather belt, plus the handbag of the moment, a roomy brown suede tote.
On paper, black tailored trousers and loafers should look quite corporate, but we love how this look is tempered by a casual white T-shirt and rolled up sleeves. (The 1990s-leaning Arqué bag by Prada doesn’t hurt either.)

When it comes to mastering the art of high-low dressing, it’s all about contrast. Namely, pairing something utilitarian and traditionally casual with a piece that is more ‘done’ (that is, formal or structured). Double denim? Yes, please. We’ve added Sézane’s Max oversized shirt, pictured here, to our AW24 wish-list.
If the scenes at Paris Fashion Week were anything to go by (the shows were characterised by a heavy amount of rain), it’s never too early to break out a pair of tights. Style them with a micro length for a nod to the 1960s and a punchy pair of ballet flats for extra pop.
Autumn is always an excellent time to play with textures – and we don’t just mean knitwear. Contrast a herringbone blazer, or jacket, with a snakeskin-look cross-body bag and bring the shoe of the moment, the suede moccasin, into the mix for a look that plays with luxury.
Speaking of statement shoes, clogs are back for autumn and, if you needed any convincing that they can be ultra chic, let this luxe look by style influencer Claire Rose settle the case.
Striped shirts are never not in vogue. Now’s the time to root out the one you wore for summer and give it an autumn makeover – team it with anything from jeans and trainers to pleat-front trousers and kitten heels, or a sumptuous suede jacket.
