The New Series To Watch On Netflix, Apple TV and Amazon Prime This Month

These gripping sci-fi series, lifestyle shows and documentaries will help settle you in to the new year with ease …

Missing You on Netflix

Harlen Coben is at it again – Fool Me Once was one of the most watched series of 2024 on Netflix, so we can only presume that Missing You will get the same reception. This mini-series follows a detective (played by Slow Horses’ star Kat Donovan), whose fiancé disappeared years ago. Now, she suddenly sees him on a dating app and her world explodes all over again. His reappearance forces her to dive back into the mystery surrounding her father’s murder and uncover long-buried secrets from her past. Image via Netflix.

Squid Game Season 2 on Netflix

The South Korean dystopian survival thriller series Squid Game, created by Korean writer and producer Hwang Dong-hyuk, has finally returned. If you thought they couldn’t surprise you any more, the new season proves they certainly can! Individual stories are cleverly realised and offer different perspectives to the first hit series – leaving us with the incessant question: what would you do in that situation? Image via Netflix.

With Love, Meghan January 15 on Netflix

Meghan Markle is returning to our screens with her new cooking, home and lifestyle series. Set in a rented property especially acquired for the project, this series will see Meghan inviting new and old friends to have candid conversations, while taking part in practical activities. The special guests featured in the eight-part series include her Suits co-star Abigail Spencer, Mindy Kaling, Roy Choi, Alice Waters and some acclaimed chefs, special friends and, of course, Prince Harry. Is Meghan the next Martha? Watch the trailer now …

Severance January 17 on Apple TV

Fans have been waiting for almost three years for the second season of Severance. Why? Because Ben Stiller, the executive producer and director, and creator Dan Erickson knew that this season needed to showcase even more creative storytelling than the wonderfully bizarre first season. We’ll see some dots being connected, with others left to mystery – which is the beauty of Severance. Talented actor Adam Scott acts as our eyes and ears as he navigates his dystopian world. The legendary Christopher Walken and Patricia Arquette return, plus expect some exciting new faces. If you love sci-fi, you will love this. Watch the two seasons back-to-back this January. Molly-Mae: Behind It All January 17 on Amazon Prime

The Love Island star and social media sensation’s documentary will see episodes 1 to 3 released this month, with episodes 3 to 6 available in spring 2025. It promises to take viewers beyond the headlines to uncover the real Molly-Mae, following her journey after a highly publicised break-up with her fiancé, boxer Tommy Fury. We will also get an insight into her life as a mother to baby Bambi, her latest business venture to date ‘Maebe’ and the opportunity to hear directly from her, candidly. This should be an interesting look into the reality of living in the public eye.

Prime Target January 22 on Apple TV

If, like us, you have been missing Leo Woodall since One Day or White Lotus (which also returns this year and we can’t wait), this is the next series for you. Woodall plays a brilliant post-graduate mathematics student on the cusp of a major breakthrough when he discovers efforts are being made to destroy his work. From student to sleuth to spy, we’re looking forward to seeing him in any capacity. Also starring Stephen Rea, Jason Flemyng and other familiar faces, this lively new series will take care of our new year viewing. Image via Apple TV.
