Summer knitwear is always necessary, according to founders of Style Ignite Studio Jane and Ruth Flanagan: “We’ve learned that Irish summers are unpredictable. A single day can present a whole array of weather conditions – from rain and hail, sunshine and blue skies to ominous clouds and bitter winds – so it always pays to be prepared with a solid rotation of organic cotton lightweight jumpers and cardigans on hand.”

The sisters and designers, who are based in Louth, know the importance of a good cardigan – it’s what the brand is all about. (The brand’s best seller is the Olivia cardigan, loved for its drop-shoulder design and relaxed fit.)

For summer, the duo are expanding the collection to include a larger amount of styles. Launching this season is the Kate cardigan, €79, (pictured, above) a boxy shaped button cardigan in a delicate blush pink – perfect for pairing with jeans and a T-shirt or for throwing over a slip dress after dark.

Also new to the fold is the brand’s first foray into shirting. The Brooke striped shirt, €69 (pictured, above), comes in classic blue and pink (there’s also a lilac), and will immediately appeal to those who collect easy-to-wear, hardworking staples. Pair it with the season’s trend-approved straight leg jean, or better yet, use it as a beach cover up for over your bikini.
