The New Beauty Launches You’ll Want To Know About

Put a spring in your step with the latest arrivals in the beauty world, from mighty moisturisers to spring scents …

THE BARGAIN BEAUTY

Dr Laura Lenihan’s carefully edited online skincare store, Phare, has up to 50 per cent off brands such as Skingredients, SkinBetter Science and La Roche-Posay and Heliocare (we recommend stocking up on your suncare for summer), plus retinols by IS Clinical. Try Revision Skincare’s gentle Papaya Enzyme Cleanser for €44.

THE NEW SKINCARE

Trust us, you don’t need to spend a fortune on moisturiser. CeraVe’s Lotion Intensive Moisturising Lotion is a reliable daily light cream for €17, and is a favourite with Gen Z since it’s fuss-free and does what it says on the tin. It’s great if your skin needs a big dose of hydration, without any heaviness or stickiness. For another great CeraVe skincare choice, see here.

For an Irish option, Doctrine Skincare, formulated by cosmetic chemist Tracey Ryan, has just launched their Infinite Hydration gel cream with squalane, rosehip seed oil and ceramides. It’s very light, so it’s perfect for oilier skin types, with a soft scent of linden blossom in a tube that works for travel (50ml). We rate their silky blue cleansing balm, too; €38.

THE ONE TO WATCH

Keep an eye on Sephora as US brand Merit is set to land soon – worth noting if you’re heading to London in the near future. Made in South Korea, Italy and the US, Merit is decent value and travel-friendly. The highlighter stick, brilliantly volumising brow pomade and dome-shaped flush balms are all worth a look, though we don’t know UK prices yet. Ireland must surely be next on their list …

THE SPRING SCENT

There’s a blossom moment every year at Jo Malone London, and the latest launch is Beach Blossom Cologne. It’s more coconut than blossom, with hints of lime and mint. It’s not madly memorable, in my opinion, but of course scent’s subjective, so you might adore it! Either way, it’s definitely one to wear with a tan. From €98 for 50ml at counters nationwide.

BEST FOR BATHS

Laura Mercier’s honey bath, in its glass pot complete with wooden dipper, was one of the first luxurious beauty products I remember loving; a super-sweet gourmand treat that was practically edible! The look has changed a bit, but now it’s back with Ambre Vanille Honey Bath. At €55 it’s a big treat, but it’s moisturising and smells delicious. At counters nationwide, including SpaceNK, and Look Fantastic.

SILK SLEEPSETS

For a gift idea (hint: Mother’s Day!) or just to enhance your bedtime, the Silk Collection (€79.95) by hairstylist Emma King’s Irish beauty business Cascata is focused on beauty sleep, featuring a silk pillowcase, eye mask and scrunchie.

SPRING BRIGHTS

Popular skincare brand Tatcha has launched a new brightening serum (€99, 30ml) and eye cream, featuring ingredients such as time-release vitamin C, antioxidant Japanese plum, ferulic acid and niacinamide. We love a brightening eye cream, so it certainly softens lines and adds a glow around the dull eye area – great for an emergency wake-up call! At €73.60 for just 15ml (usually a travel size), it’s an investment, though. The peach and gold packaging is lurid, but clever with its spatula attached to the top of the lid. At SpaceNK.
