While we all love our heritage houses, there’s something to be said about fresh talent. Every summer Brown Thomas offers emerging Irish designers the opportunity to exhibit at its prestigious Dublin flagship store. This year’s CREATE installation spotlights a mix of new unique and diverse design talent.

As one of the newest labels in Irish fashion, Amy Anderson’s Kindred of Ireland’s linen dresses (pictured above), blouses and separates have slowly, but surely made a mark on the industry, breathing new life into the tradition of Irish linen. Caoimhe Murphy’s feminine, fun and unique designs, made from natural fabrics like organic silk and cotton, are driven by colour and texture and made contemporary through the use of fabrication techniques. The result? Handbeaded frothy tulle pieces as well as modern pieces in silks and taffetas that would make any dressing-up devotee’s heart skip a beat.

Angela Scanlon’s jewellery label FRKL has become the name on every Irish fashion person’s lips. Keep an eye out for her Create debut with a collection of buildable, customisable jewellery comprising chains, earrings, bracelets and charms. Also, well worth a look are breakout jewellery designers FiorSó (colourful ename-linlayed floral designs), Gabsluk (whimsical, romantic charms) and SIADBH (beautiful hand-selected crystal amulets).
