On a recent trip to London, a visit to department store Liberty was top of the list – not least to see its exclusive pop-up with Brazilian brand Farm Rio in real life. The colour-bursting, print-saturated brand has taken over a section on level two for the summer months and the whole space is a treat for the senses. Farm Rio has been in existence since the early 2000s and has been loved by Brazilians ever since but it’s only in recent years that it has captured a global audience. Now their tropical prints fill our Instagram feeds with joyous visions of summer all year round. And luckily, the dresses do not disappoint. Many are made from 100 per cent certified organic cotton, others from Lenzing™ Ecovero™ (often used as a more sustainable alternative to Viscose) and there are bright, brilliant pieces to suit all shapes and styles. We’d dream of wearing one on a sunny beach with a tropical cocktail in hand but will settle for a garden party or a beach day on staycation (once this good weather sticks around) if we must.
