Só Irish: What’s New At Kildare Village This Summer

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH KILDARE VILLAGE

There’s so much to explore at Kildare Village this summer, with new boutiques, pop-up performances, an open-air sculpture gallery and an exclusive Designer in Residence series

With summer holidays on the horizon, there’s only one place to pick up all your travel essentials – discover the ultimate shopping experience at Kildare Village and make the most of a gorgeous day out, where you can browse boutiques, book a personal shopping appointment, pause for a leisurely lunch, and experience the exciting activations and happenings at the Village this summer.

With its new Só Irish summer-long event, Kildare Village is celebrating Irish culture, beauty and art. There’s so much to explore: a creative takeover by muralist Sean Atmos, an open-air art gallery and a focus on sustainable style as part of the Irish Designers in Residence series. Só, meaning luxury in Irish, is the focus right now, and of course, at Kildare Village, luxury is guaranteed.

Jewellery designer Bláithín Ennis.

The year-long Designer in Residence series, launched to put a spotlight on Irish designers, continues throughout the summer. This month, jewellery designer Bláithín Ennis will host a special shopping event at The Apartment, Kildare Village’s private shopping and event space, with an opportunity for shoppers to meet the designer and shop her new jewellery. Other confirmed designers for the series include Jennifer Slattery, known for her timeless linen clothing and tableware, and artist Audrey Hamilton, who creates unique graphic tees and sweatshirts using signature bright statement artworks.

Rixo founders Orlagh McCloskey and Henrietta Rix outside the Kildare Village boutique.

New boutiques have opened, or are about to open this summer at Kildare Village too. Rixo has had a steady stream of fashionable customers through its doors since opening in May. The beauty of Rixo is that while prints and patterns might change season to season, silhouettes will remain the same, so you’ll find lots to love from past seasons as well as current collections in the new boutique. British brand Whistles has found a permanent home in the Village, its first standalone store in Ireland – the place to go for smart separates, flattering midi dresses and luxe leather pieces (now is the time to buy!). Dune has just opened a newly refreshed boutique, filled with summer sandals and holiday-ready totes. And Russell & Bromley has opened a boutique, stocking the brand’s handbags (the Everyday suede tote is top of our list) as well as its reliable footwear collections for men and women. Kilkenny Design has just opened – shop Lennon Courtney’s fashion, accessories and homeware collections in store now. Neom has also opened a new boutique, where shoppers can enjoy complimentary hand and arm massages. Shop the new limited edition Wellbeing Pod Waterless Essential Oil Diffuser, and stock up on luxurious hand washes and lotions.

Illustrator Grainne Bath Enright.

Walking around the Village, you’ll notice beautiful pockets of wild flowers throughout. Illustrator Grainne Bath Enright has transformed windows and displays with her whimsical hand-drawn illustrations. Of the collaboration Grainne says: “Creating artwork for windows is always an exciting challenge. You want to catch the eye of the passerby and invite them in.”

The outdoor sculpture gallery in partnership with The Kildare Gallery.

There’s also the all-new sculpture garden, launched in partnership with The Kildare Gallery. The partnership offers a uniquely personal way to view and purchase sculpture. The exquisite pieces presented throughout the Village transform it into an outdoor gallery, allowing visitors to experience some of Ireland’s leading artists’ work up close. All pieces in the exhibition are available to purchase and private appointments can be made with Ken and Ruth, founders of The Kildare Gallery.

Singer-songwriter Darren Kiely.

That’s not all! There’s a partnership with All Together Now which sees live music pop-up performances in the Village. So far, there has been a performance by one of this year’s breakout stars, Darren Kiely, with more to come this month. Darren will play at All Together Now, Co Waterford on the August Bank Holiday. (Kildare Village will also be at the festival, offering beauty stations for festival-goers!)

Oakberry has popped up at Kildare Village, offering açaí bowls and smoothies.

For refuelling after shopping on hot summer days, Oakberry is now serving its delicious açaí bowls and smoothies, made fresh to order with all-natural ingredients. Order The Works, with unlimited toppings (like almond butter, goji berries, cacao nibs and more) or new special Pistachio Cream with granola, chia pudding, and fresh strawberries.

Getting to Kildare Village has never been easier, as Uber and Kildare Village have announced a new partnership which offers guests an easier way to access the premium shopping destination. A dedicated pick-up and drop-off area, Hands Free Shopping and bespoke offers for Kildare Village members and new Uber customers, will encourage you to leave the car at home so you can really sit back and relax. Uber is offering up to 50 per cent off all rides to and from Kildare Village (to the value of €50) for all Kildare Village members when inserting KILDAREVILLAGE50 on the Uber App wallet. This exclusive offer is valid until July 31 2025 – making it the perfect time to shop in style and comfort. What more could you ask for?
