Sienna Miller has been making headlines this year – for all the right reasons. Her recent appearance at Paris Fashion Week, where she took to the front row at Chloé to celebrate the first collection by new creative director Chemena Kamali, all but confirmed the return of boho for the summer 2024 season. Miller was dressed in an ethereal lace-trim slip dress and wooden wedge sandals that was toughened up by an oversized leather bomber with utility pockets, something the internet immediately branded a masterclass in bohemian dressing.
And now the actress – and veritable style savant – has ensured we can all master the boho look with ease all summer long. That’s right, in exciting news for Sienna Miller fans, Marks & Spencer has announced a summer collection designed in collaboration with Miller, following on from the success of a previous partnership in September 2023.
The all new Summer by Sienna collection is inspired by Miller’s own style, with the creative team diving into her own personal archive for inspiration with pieces inspired by some of her favourite vintage finds. The 33-piece collection nods to summer festivals, 70s prints and exotic adventures. Colour and print combinations are inspired by one of her favourite artists, Mark Rothko, whose retrospective just closed at the Fondation Louis Vuitton in Paris. Miller translated Rothko’s famous colour blends into the ombré slip dresses in the collection.
Miller’s top pick? The dress of the season – a chic, ultra-feminine ruffle maxi dress available in ivory and pale blue. “I think the ruffle dresses really stand out, and the fabric is gorgeous. You can style them a million different ways,” she says. We can see this working for wedding guest dressing, beachfront dining on holiday and even dressed down with a leather jacket for casual weekend wear. Elsewhere in the collection, a beaded tank dress conjures up memories of Miller’s iconic Glastonbury style (pair it with the khaki utility jacket to nail grown-up festival style this summer), while a multi-purpose sarong was designed to reference a scarf gifted to her by her father many years ago.
For everyday wear, we’ll be ordering the slouchy barrel leg jeans with a contrast side panel and cut-out hem detail – paired with the pretty boho blouses, summer dressing doesn’t get any easier. Quilted jackets and Western accessories will have the season all sewn up.
The collection will be available in Marks & Spencer Grafton Street store and online from Thursday June 6; www.marksandspencer.ie.
