The Derry visionary has successfully recoded the House of Dior with a show combining Paul Poiret’s legacy – a couturier celebrated for his fluid forms – with modern-day aristo-youth effortlessly blending old and new; sporting punk rock hair, embroidered epaulettes and Anderson’s unique flair for eccentricity.

Seemingly contradictory ideas are woven together seamlessly: the codes of formality, Dior tropes, echoes of Poiret, denim and parkas. Tailoring is slender and precise in lean trousers, shrunken blazers, tailcoats and elongated or cropped Bar jackets while outerwear merges the technical with both masculine and feminine finish. Donegal tweeds, velvets, jacquards and embroideries animate a sombre palette where, according to the House, “Style is treated as discourse”.
