With her collection in Ireland for the first time, model and blogger turned fashion designer Anine Bing shows us around her LA home …
“I live in West Hollywood with my husband Nico and our two children, Bianca and Benjamin. When Nico and I launched the Anine Bing brand in 2012, we had a very specific idea in mind. Having spent so much time as a model and blogger, I knew how women like to dress. All the clothes in the line are easy to mix and match so you don’t have to think too hard about putting an outfit together. There’s a lot of my own personal style in there, a mix of my background in Scandinavia and the LA rock look that I love.
Life is very busy, so home is our safe space, where we can recharge and feel cosy. Our house is a new build, designed along the lines of the classic Spanish-style LA home, but with our own personal touches. We didn’t use an interior designer as we both enjoy decorating. It’s definitely more modern European than American – quite pared back.

My favourite furniture is mid-century and I have picked up some great Danish pieces from Illums Bolighus and Klassik Copenhagen. I’m on the hunt for an original Arne Jacobsen Swan chair. When I buy furniture it is always with the view that it has to last a lifetime. I have some great pieces from Restoration Hardware and Pottery Barn too – always unfussy and with a laidback vibe. We have always collected black and white photography, especially Terry O’Neill’s work: it features in vintage frames in the hallway and in the dining room, and on my Ida T-shirt!”
In the living room, Bing’s Scandianavian style is to the fore with a curvy white leather Corona chair by Volther, and a simple black leather sofa and black marble coffee table.
The house opens to a long hallway with panelled walls and herringbone parquet floor. The mix of gilt mirror, vintage wooden bench and black and white photography is sharp, yet informal.
