Don’t Miss This Perfectly Cottagecore Pop-Up That’s in Dublin Until Saturday

Fashion and homewares designer Rae Feather hosts a pop-up at Helen Turkington, Dublin this week …

In today’s world, often the mark of a genuinely good brand is one that falls under the ‘lifestyle’ category. Meaning, beyond making us crush on a specific thing – say, a handbag or a lipstick – rather, it’s the lifestyle it projects or the environment it inhabits that wins you over.

This is certainly the case with Rae Feather. One look at the Northern-Ireland born designer’s Instagram and you suddenly feel transported to the British countryside. Unsurprisingly, that’s where Feather lives (in Northamptonshire, near Oxford) and designs her eponymous label from. To speak in social media talk, Rae’s entire vibe is very Nancy Meyers. A house that wouldn’t look out of place in Meyers-directed movie The Holiday, and a laid-back but refined wardrobe to go with. Sometimes it’s hard to tell if you want the model’s bib-front shirt, the living room painted in calming neutrals – or both.

It’s not surprising that Rae Feather takes a holistic approach to design. Her mother and father are Hilary and Raymond Turkington, who established the popular Raymond Turkington Decorations in Cookstown. While Feather’s sister is Helen Turkington, the Dublin-based interiors guru.

This week, the designer’s Dublin pop-up keeps it in the family, too. An edit of the Rae Feather AW21 collection (clothing and accessories) will be available to shop at Helen Turkington’s studio in Stillorgan, Co Dublin from Wednesday November 10 through to Saturday November 13.

Layered skirt, €165, Rae Feather.

Leopard-print midi-dress, €170, Rae Feather.

The pop-up will feature a selection of clothing and accessories.

While many know the Rae Feather brand for its monogrammed straw bags – a key piece for the designer – the autumn collection expands into new territory. Think: a striking leopard-print dress or a lambswool side-neck sweater, inspired by a costume from the Netflix show The Queen’s Gambit. A go-anywhere military jacket keeps the tone casual, while a layered floral skirt is crying out to be paired with the season’s chunky boots.

Catch the pop up at Helen Turkington, 58 Spruce Avenue, Stillorgan, Co Dublin from Wednesday November 10 to Saturday November 13. See RaeFeather.com or Instagram @raefeather for more.
