With a rainy weekend forecast, we’re adding these new releases to our watch list …
*Trigger warning; some topics may be distressing to some viewers.

Untamed on Netflix
Untamed is turning heads, and we can see why. The scenery alone in this series is enough to take your breath away, but the mysterious storyline will have you holding it right back in. We welcome Eric Bana (Dirty John) to our screens, who plays a special National Parks service agent who investigates the brutal death of a woman at Yosemite National Park, but inevitably finds out more than he was looking for. Also starring Sam Neill (Jurassic Park), Rosemarie DeWitt (La La Land), Wilson Bethel (How To Get Away With Murder) and Lily Santiago (La Brea).

Little Disasters on Paramount +
From the producers of Big Little Lies, Little Disasters stars Diane Kruger (Inglorious Bastards) who plays a mother who joins a group of new mother friends in her neighbourhood. Her world is torn apart however, when she is accused of injuring her baby by one of the other mothers. The following events fracture the bond between all of them and destroy their families in one way or another. Also starring Jo Joyner (For Her Sins), Emily Taaffe (The Dig), Shelley Conn (Bridgerton), JJ Feild (Captain America: The First Soldier) and Patrick Baladi (Rush).

Smoke on Apple TV
Despite our predictions, this series is in fact not a total flop and has been widely well-received. Let’s hear it for Taron Egerton, no matter what material he’s given, he will always get the job done. The series follows the story of a troubled detective and an enigmatic arson investigator who are hot on the heels of two serial arsonists wreaking havoc in their town. Also starring Jurnee Smollett (The Order), Rafe Spall (The Big Short), Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine (Dexter: Resurrection), Greg Kinnear (You’ve Got Mail), John Leguizamo (The Menu), Adina Porter (American Horror Story) and Anna Chlumsky (Inventing Anna).

Dexter: Resurrection on Paramount +
Whether you are a hardcore Dexter fan, or have never given this fan-favourite character a chance, it seems Dexter: Resurrection is where it all goes down, and a stellar cast comes out. Dexter Morgan wakes up from a coma and sets out for New York City, determined to find Harrison and make things right. But when Miami Metro’s Angel Batista arrives with questions, Dexter realizes his past is catching up with him. Micheal C Hall returns as Dexter, along with Uma Thurman (Kill Bill), Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones), James Remar (Sex and The City), Jack Alcott (The Blacklist), Jill Marie Lawrence (Oceans 8), David Dastmalchian (Prisoners), Eric Stonestreet (Modern Family) and more.

The Stolen Girl on Disney +
Eery, mysterious, intense and marginally distressing (before it loses its mojo); if this sounds like something up your street then flick on The Stolen Girl this weekend. The story follows a mother of two, played by Denise Gough (Under The Banner of Heaven) whose world is turned upside down when she agrees to let her nine-year-old daughter have a sleepover at her new best friend’s house, played by Holliday Grainger (The Capture). Enter husband played by Jim Sturgess (One Day) and friend Selma played by rising star Ambika Mod (One Day: Netflix).
