Finally, after almost three months of lockdown, the shops and shopping centres have reopened. Whether you’ve been longing to hit Harvey Nichols or dash into Penneys (if you have the patience to queue), the reopening of stores is a welcome next step in our easing out of lockdown. Dundrum Town Centre has announced a range of measures to keep everyone safe (check the website for information on specific brands’ opening times before visiting). What will the new normal look like for the centre? A one-way system to help customers safely navigate the centre; fixed hand sanitiser stations; enhanced cleaning processes and live monitoring of footfall to ensure there aren’t too many people in the centre at any one time. Customers will be encouraged to use contactless payment and to wear a mask. Face mask on, some of us will be making a trip to find thoughtful Father’s Day gifts.
