Key Looks From The Look The Business Fashion Show At THE GLOSS GALA

Over 100 fashion looks were expertly styled by Catherine Condell – with fashion from Brown Thomas, Magee 1866, Khan, Avoca, Guaranteed Irish, AndTate, Joseph Ribkoff, Kalu and Louise Kennedy …

At this year’s Look the Business fashion show at THE GLOSS GALA 2025, 110 fashion looks were expertly styled by Catherine Condell with fashion from Brown Thomas, Magee 1866, Khan, Avoca, Guaranteed Irish, AndTate, Joseph Ribkoff, Kalu and Louise Kennedy. The 30 gorgeous models who marched down the 35-metre runway – with chic textured hair, luminous skin and a matte red lipstick in a shade to complement each model’s skintone – gave the show a truly international flavour. Working hard behind the scenes was the Brown Sugar team, with hair led by Christian Shannon and make-up by Dearbhla Keenan. From smart suiting and elegant desk to dinner looks to showstopping eveningwear, the audience was wowed by this presentation of Irish designers and retailers. Scroll below to see the highlights …

 BROWN THOMAS

Brown Thomas opened proceedings by showcasing its range of designer labels including Khaite, Victoria Beckham, Roland Mouret, Erdem and Chloé. The first look was a charcoal tweed skirt suit by Dolce & Gabbana, which features on THE GLOSS November issue cover (out Thursday November 6 with The Irish Times). What followed was a carefully considered edit presenting ultra-smart staples to wear after work from Max Mara, Hugo Boss and Vince, with coats by Irish designer The Landskein. An elegant gold and black tweed dress by Ulla Johnson was the perfect closing look – look no further for your Christmas soirée outfit.

MAGEE 1866

Magee 1866 presented its signature collection of heritage tweed and wool coats in shades of chocolate, rust and teal. There were check coats, oversized capes and houndstooth suits from the fifth-generation family brand based in Donegal. An ivory coat, burgundy knit sweater with floral Liberty-print shirt collar peeking out, and teal corduroy trousers looked smart paired with black leather loafers. A navy cropped wool jacket with matching skirt was finished with a navy and green check scarf, while a navy wool dress was layered with a red tartan wool throw. The final look, an oversized navy tweed coat, is one you will want to wrap up in all winter long.

KHAN

Khan boutique in Blackrock, Co Dublin is known for its unique selection of international labels. At the Look the Business fashion show, guests saw looks from Essentiel Antwerp, Dorothee Schumacher, Dom Goor, Charlotte Sparre and Irish designer Róisín Linnane. A black velvet lurex dress with a faux fur jacket, both by Essentiel Antwerp, presented the perfect outfit idea for party season. Róisín Linnane’s elegant textured coat with wrap scarf (and worn with a matching skirt) is an exquisite investment piece for upcoming occasions and one that is high on THE GLOSS team’s wishlist.

AVOCA

Avoca presented Aran knit sweaters and heritage tweed skirts and jackets from its Avoca Mill collection. The brand’s recent collaboration with the Galway Wool Co-Op means its latest outerwear edit – in shades of emerald green, candy pink and smart navy – is made from native Irish wool. Avoca also showed a wide range of its contemporary labels, from a casual embroidered bomber jacket by Fabienne Chapot to neon sweaters by American Vintage and an OTT burgundy sequined top and skirt by Yas. A chocolate brown shaggy faux fur coat by Second Female was paired with a floral dress by Never Fully Dressed, also spotted in THE GLOSS November issue fashion shoot.

GUARANTEED IRISH

Next up was Guaranteed Irish, which presented looks from three of its members, Urban Aran, Noema and Helen McAlinden. Urban Aran made an entrance with a teal and cerise graphic knit coat and matching scarf. Noema’s chic winter white wrap coat was followed by a grey check coat with matching skirt and top. Helen McAlinden’s delicate satin blouse was worn with a beige wool blazer and matching wide-leg trousers – and a latte cashmere sweater with a matching A-line skirt looks comfortable and chic to take you from the office to post-work events.

ANDTATE

AndTate, the creation of celebrated Irish fashion designer Sharon Hoey and Richard Tate, delivers dresses, skirts, blouses and gowns for the modern woman. Its elegant occasionwear always makes a statement on the Look the Business catwalk. There were puff sleeve tops, embellished detail skirts and dramatic structured tops and skirts. A pale “kiwi” green satin top and skirt worn with velvet opera gloves opened the segment. A pale pink sheer blouse with dramatic bow collar, worn with a bronze circle skirt, is the update your event wardrobe deserves.

JOSEPH RIBKOFF

With its timeless approach to desk to dinner fashion, Joseph Ribkoff appears to be the go-to brand for busy women who want to dress with flair for work, events and special occasions. With an array of evening looks on show, the brand’s merlot faux fur coat was worn with a white belted shirt and black sparkly tulle skirt. The perfect shade for the festive season, a merlot pleated satin dress adds extra interest with its black lace sleeve detail, while a black embellished blouse with matching evening trousers offers an elegant update on a monochrome look.

EMPORIUM KALU

The expert team at Emporium Kalu boutique in Co Kildare has an eye for detail – every outfit at the Look the Business fashion show was completed with the perfect finishing touches. There were cloche hats by Catarzi, leather gloves by Irish designer Paula Rowan, handbags by Maria La Rosa. A dramatic green damask coat was worn over a For Restless Sleepers floral blouse and matching wide-leg trousers. The final look brought the wow factor: a pink sequined dress by The 2nd Skin Co, with a blush pink coat by Di Stavnitser and nude leather gloves by Handsome (pictured above). For a winter wedding or black tie occasion, look no further than Kalu.

LOUISE KENNEDY

Irish designer Louise Kennedy closed the Look the Business fashion show with a dazzling display of pieces from her AW25 collection. Feather detailing, embellishment, beading – it had all the hallmarks of a fabulous festive wardrobe. A standout was a navy embellished silk top with a navy feather silk skirt worn with silver pointed-toe shoes. An ivory wool jacket and cropped black slim trousers with a tuxedo shirt and black bow-tie masters the art of desk to dinner dressing. And finally, a sleek one-shoulder asymmetric embellished silk dress closed the show – a magnificent finale.

Throughout the Look the Business fashion show the 30 models wore divine boots, pumps and slingbacks from official shoe partner Next. Additional boots and flats came from Penneys. And so an evening of fabulous fashion and glamour was completed.
