The Academy Award-winning actress and activist throws back to her heyday, creating a workout video for H&M …
It may have been forty years since her first workout video, but Jane Fonda is dusting off her lycra leggings once again in a new campaign for H&M. The Academy Award-winning actress and activist is the face of H&M’s Move campaign alongside acclaimed choreographer JaQuel Knight. Move isn’t your average fitness campaign, according to the high street giant: it acknowledges that movement and being active looks different for everyone. The philosophy of ‘movewear’ over sportswear is a draw for 84-year-old Fonda, who says, “To me, it’s not about sports or being the most athletic. It’s about giving your body the kind of movement it needs to stay healthy so it can take care of you.”
The first drop of Move, which goes on sale today, features activewear essentials such as functional tops, lightweight jackets, tights and bras, alongside more specific pieces made for training and running. In these images, Fonda is modelling the Monogram collection, which heroes a series of tracksuits with logos and reflective details.
For the campaign, Fonda takes up the fitness instructor mantle once more, to our delight, leading a multi-generational workout that can be enjoyed by all – see the video, below.
You can buy the Move collection from August 4 at Hm.com and selected H&M stores nationwide, including the brand’s flagship store at College Green, Dublin 2.
