It’s Almost Coat Weather: Discover The Luxury Irish Brand We Love

IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE LANDSKEIN

Irish brand The Landskein has just launched a covetable new outerwear collection of classic coats and jackets …

Founded by Anna Guerin in 2019, The Landskein is admired by fashion insiders and those in-the-know for its elegant tweed and wool overcoats and jackets, distinguished by their relaxed silhouettes and sharp detailing. Guerin uses super-fine lambswool tweed woven in Donegal for her creations – the use of local materials and manufacturers is of paramount importance to the brand.

The Landskein has just launched its sixth collection, Quintessence. Designed to embrace the timelessness of heritage and tradition with the sharpness of a modern sensibility, according to Guerin, “Quintessence is an invitation to discover your own story within the weave, to find a piece that resonates with your sense of style and identity.”

With a balance of form and function, the collection represents a comprehensive exploration of tailoring – there’s a coat to suit all styles, with a range of silhouettes from classic trench coats to double-breasted wool coats and oversized styles with wraparound belts that cinch at the waist. An inherently Irish brand, since its outset, The Landskein has used Irish fabrics and worked with local artisans to support traditional craftsmanship and help to sustain local economies. Guerin designs bespoke fabrics with father-and-son team Shaun and Kieran Molloy of Molly & Sons in Ardara, Co Donegal, with new blends created for this season.

With Quintessence, the colour palette is rich and considered, weaving together deep burgundy, navy and ivory with subtle shades of dove grey, aubergine and rich browns. Textures play a central role, with herringbone and houndstooth featuring in the collection on the Constance and Sawyer styles.

Another collection highlight is Celeste, an ivory floor length coat, which stands out for its unexpected take on traditional Irish fabric. Crafted by Molloy & Sons, “this glorious snow-white herringbone was challenging to perfect, but the result is stunning,” explains Guerin.

The Quintessence collection is available online at www.thelandskein.com and at stockists including Brown Thomas, Havana and Emporium Kalu. Guerin has also opened a studio showroom in Dublin, an exclusive setting where clients can schedule visits to explore the entire collection.

The Quintessence collection is available online www.thelandskein.com as well as by appointment at The Landskein studio; email showroom@thelandskein.com.
