Channel jet set glam with a holiday in Capri this summer …

STAY: Hotel La Palma – the oldest hotel on Capri has hosted artists, poets, writers and musicians since it opened 200 years ago. Interior designer Francis Sultana has transformed the hotel which reopened this season. With a rooftop restaurant, pool deck and spa, it’s minutes from the famous Piazzetta in Anacapri; www.oetkercollection.com.

DO: Having taken a chairlift up Mount Solaro for panoramic views over the island, rowed around the famous Blue Grotto and explored the remains of Emperor Tiberius’s Villa Jovis, make a beeline for the bars at the Grand Hotel Quisiana to celebrity-spot. For discreet treatments, Capri Beauty Farm at Capri Palace specialises in leg treatments to improve cellulite and vascular problems – especially helpful after a long night in one of Capri’s nightclubs, including Anema e Core in Via Sella Orta.

DINE: Book dinner in Da Gemma, once Graham Greene’s favourite eaterie, which serves authentic Caprese favourites.

SHOP: The boutiques on Via Vittorio Emmanuele III in Anacapri entice the yacht crowd (and have eye-popping prices). Blu boutique is fabulous. Must-buys are the island’s leather sandals, a favourite of Jackie O. Pick up some scent at Carthusia, peruse the gems at Grazia and Marica Vozza, browse Cabana Capri for homeware and Fiore Capri for hats.
PACKING TIPS: Pump up the prints and keep your kaftans colourful. Take inspiration from Maria de la Orden and Blanca Miro who are currently twinning around Italy in towelling fabric cover-ups by their brand La Veste; www.lavestelaveste.com.
