1. L’Occitane’s limited edition collections are always worth a look. This year’s Citrus Road includes the quirky Kumquat (a whipped and frothy cream that smells warm and sweet, with mandarin notes) and Combawa (more creamy and velvety, with notes of fresh lime and coconut water); each in eye-catching packaging that stands out on the shelf. The green and pink stripes on Combawa are particularly striking, with definite Hotel Les Deux Gares (the Paris spot designed by Luke Edward Hall) vibes. It makes the whole idea of a plain white bathroom seem very boring. Bring on the stripes!
Each line includes soaps (€6.50), creamy body lotion (€32), shower cream or foam (€19.50) and hand cream (from €11), plus discovery collections bringing three items to €36.
2. Avoca’s new beauty range is garden-inspired with brightly packaged creams, lotions, soaps and candles. Clearly, pink and green is a bit of thing right now as the Love Note candle illustrates. Prices from €6.50 for soaps.

3. Splashing out? As we’ve mentioned, Hermès lead the way when it comes to luxurious, colourful bathroom beauties. Launched this year, the scents in Le Bain Hermès collection are as high-quality as their perfumes, while the refillable glass bottles are supremely elegant. We’re using sparingly to make them last. 4. Everyone’s on the M&S website trying to nab some Bella Freud (and no wonder – the quality and styling looks fantastic, and the collection appeals to such a wide age range. Now, we can all have a bit of Bella!). While you’re there, check out the excellent Burst Bodycare – since we first spotted this bright range, there’s now a set of five shower gels available in flavours from cherry to orange and mango (all for €19). One of the first beauty treats I can remember was peach bubble bath from M&S, so these remind me of that fruity, frothy fun. We’re also inexplicably drawn to the Percy Pig bubble bath, which is a crazy, but quite genius idea – let’s hope it smells exactly like the sweets.
5. French pharmacy stalwarts Roger & Gallet do a colourful and fragrant range of shower gels and soaps, alongside the great-value scents (the new Cologne Twist is beautiful, with sunny citrus and clary sage notes – think Portofino vibes without the Tom Ford pricetag). Try this fresh, herbal Jean-Marie Farina shower gel, which is a great unisex choice. R&G is available at pharmacies nationwide.
