How to look chic during Irish summertime? Scroll these looks for inspiration …

The June forecast has been less than idyllic – with a striking amount of weather warnings, and excessive rain and wind. All the while, when we get some pockets of good weather, we’re doing our best to show off our summer pieces we’ve been waiting so patiently to wear all year. Thankfully, Instagram is serving up a slew of get-dressed inspiration right now. From the key pieces to invest in to the styling tricks you need, scroll below for some chic ideas.

A co-ordinated two piece is a good option when the weather isn’t playing ball but you want to feel summery. Note the long sleeve and longer hem length.

Looking to switch things up? Try a denim or linen boiler suit – it’ll make for a refreshing off-duty look.

Trade jeans for a pair of crease-front trousers.

Show your summer nous in a bohemian maxi-dress. (Shop the best here.)

Throw a cotton shirt over everything – earn bonus points if it’s in a bold pinstripe or classic chambray.

Shrug on a 70s-inspired shacket when the temperature drops: perfect when you’re heading to a festival or gig.

A bra-friendly summer dress will see you through those days when the weather heats up. See THE GLOSS’ pick of the best brands here

Just because it’s raining doesn’t mean you can’t dress in voguish layers of vanilla. Mud/red wine/child-induced stains, be damned!

A dull day? Throw caution to the wind and don your favourite – and most-extra – print.

Braving a sea swim? Join the club! Invest in some crisp loungewear for a chic quick-change.

If you get a window of Aperol weather then take advantage by throwing on a bright dress and a slick of lipstick.
