Here is Everything You Need to Know About This Secret Art Sale

Incognito mystery art sale in aid of the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation is back. With the event taking place on Wednesday, April 26. Make sure you get involved!

WHAT: What makes Incognito so different from other art sales and auctions is that the artist behind each piece of art is kept top secret until the sale is over and the purchase has been made. Each artwork is an original, the size of a postcard, and priced at €65. With almost 3,000 artworks, from over 1,000 Irish and international artists, curator Lucinda Hall believes this year’s Incognito art sale is the best yet. It’s now in its seventh year.

WHO: Among the superstars taking part in Incognito 2023 are rock legend Ronnie Wood, Westlife’s Mark Feehily, singer Brian Kennedy, fashion designers Don O’Neill and Paul and William Costelloe, folk singer Mary Black, actress Norma Sheahan, and “The Voice” Eimear Quinn.

Other high-profile artists involved are Helen Steele (pictured), Mo Kelly, Maser, Una Sealy RHA, Sylvia Parkinson Brown, Abigail O’Brien, Peter Curling, Fergus Martin, Martin Gale, Ruthie Ashenhurst, Mick O’Dea, Emily McGardle, Julianne Guinee and Zsolt Basti.

WHY: Funds raised through Incognito go to fund in-home nursing and respite support for over 400 children with highly complex medical conditions in communities across Ireland. A lifeline for so many families, Jack and Jill also provides end-of-life care for children up to six years, irrespective of diagnosis.

HOW: The Incognito collection is now live online, giving interested purchasers ample time to peruse the collection, register their details, and select their Wish Lists. When the sale takes place on Wednesday April 26, it is the luck of the draw as to who gets what. That’s why prospective buyers are being urged not to leave registration and selecting their favourite artworks until the last minute, as it may well be too late.

AND: “I have to say that if people have ever been intrigued by art, but felt a little out of their comfort zone, at €65 an artwork, Incognito is the perfect way to get a collection started,” believes Lucinda. “Whether by a renowned artist, or an up-and-coming talent, one thing’s for sure, you’ll have selected a piece that you’ve already fallen in love with. Plus, your donation will go to support the hugely important work of the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation. It really is a win-win for everyone!” www.incognito.ie
