Hello To These 3 New Café Locations And Pop-Ups

Bonjour to the new café at the Alliance Française, a new location for Rumi Café and the beloved Misunderstood Heron pop-up …

Madeleine, Alliance Française, Kildare Street, Dublin 2

Run by the Irish charity, expect affordable coffee and French pastries including madeleines, croissants and chouquettes in this cosy new café, which has also started serving lunch and stays open late for evening students to enjoy. The goal is to encourage community in the heart of the city with the space available for Amis de l’Alliance including talks, workshops, screenings, cooking classes, photography exhibitions and school camps. Look out for their upcoming Épicerie (grocery corner) offering a selection of French products. @af_dublin

Rumi Café, Temple Bar, Dublin 8

This popular Turkish café and eatery has opened its second location, offering a unique blend of Mediterranean and Turkish cuisine, with a menu that reflects both cultures’ rich culinary traditions. Named after renowned Persian poet and philosopher Rumi, and run by sisters Esra Leyla, Esma, and Derya Balkir, the décor is warm and inviting, featuring vibrant Turkish kilim rugs sourced from their father’s shop on Francis Street, Oriental Rugs. The baklava is imported straight from Turkey and each customer gets a free Turkish delight, while their speciality coffee is brewed from local roasters Imbibe and Groundstate Coffee, with Mafia Matcha for tea lovers. @rumicafedublin

Misunderstood Heron Pop-Up | Louisburgh, Co Mayo

Fans of this outdoor eatery can breathe a sigh of relief following its recent closure. Formerly located at a viewpoint in Leenaun looking over Killary Fjord, for eight years husband and wife team Kim and Reinaldo’s award-winning food stop served seasonal produce and specialty coffee: named one of the world’s 10 coolest food trucks by the Lonely Planet travel guides. From June to September, loyal customers can visit this pop-up with BigStyle Lodge at P Dan’s, a landmark location near Louisburgh at Killadoon in south Co Mayo. Set against the backdrop of the terrace with breathtaking views in front of The Big Dipper – a scenic sauna and hot tub – it’s the perfect spot for a swim, sauna and bite to relax afterwards. @misunderstood_heron @p.dans2025
