What We’re Wearing, Investing In And Plotting This Month …

Autumn brings renewal …

As Fashion Weeks kick off in New York, London, Milan and Paris, the high fashion world feels like a game of musical chairs. Jonathan Anderson is the name on everyone’s lips as the Derry-born designer prepares to present his first womenswear show for Dior. We’re looking forward to Matthieu Blazy’s first collection for Chanel, Louise Trotter’s for Bottega Veneta (she takes over from Blazy), and Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez (founders of Proenza Schouler) for Loewe (taking over from Anderson).

On the autumn arts scene: IMMA’s Earth Rising Festival runs September 12 to 14, the 20th anniversary of Culture Night falls on September 19, and Dublin Theatre Festival runs from September 25 to October 12. Standout shows include Poor (at The Gate) and Marina Carr’s experiemental The Boy (at The Abbey). In This Glossy Life (page 76) we meet its star Eileen Walsh.
