The countdown is on to the 2025 RDS Dublin Horse Show which returns from August 6 to 10. This year is a milestone, celebrating 150 years of the Show. One of the most anticipated highlights is the Best Dressed Competition, sponsored by Poretti, which will take place on Thursday August 7 on the Band Lawn of the RDS. Traditionally referred to as Ladies’ Day, the overall Best Dressed winner will receive a cash prize of €10,000 from Poretti.
Also on Ladies’ Day is a further Best Dressed competition, the Continentally Classic competition held annually at the InterContinental Dublin. This event is described as a celebration of “continental elegance”, rather than traditional race wear, and was launched last night on a balmy evening in the hotel’s Ice Bar.
Nicky Logue, general manager of the hotel, welcomed guests to a champagne and canapé reception during which a salon show was curated by fashion writer, Bairbre Power. Designers and fashion lovers were out in force and included Amy Anderson of Kindred of Ireland, Celia Holman Lee, Shelly Corkery, designer Fiona Heaney of Fee Gee and milliner Michelle Kearns.
Guests were inspired by dynamic floral designs from Helen Steele, and wearable, sustainable pieces from Stable of Ireland as well as hearing the inspiration behind these creations. Stylist Jess Colivet also provided tips on what to buy for the occasion, and more importantly how to wear it.
The Continentally Classic Competition is open to both ladies and gentlemen, with some incredible prizes on offer. These include exclusive access to The Apartment at Kildare Village, a personal shopping appointment with the in-house personal styling team and a Kildare Village gift card to the value of €2,000. In addition the prize includes five-star spa hotel stays at Powerscourt Resort Hotel & Spa and InterContinental Dublin. Judging will begin at 7pm on August 7 so plenty of time to get there after the Horse Show has finished. We’ll see you there!
