There’s always a buzz on Dublin’s Balfe Street when Solomon Fine Art throws a vernissage and the much anticipated opening for Orla de Brí’s new exhibition was no exception.
Orla’s work is instantly recognisable for its highly stylised human forms that seem to merge or evolve into elements of the natural world. She works on these pieces made from bronze, steel, stone and fibreglass, from her purpose-built studio in Co Meath.
Dr Éimear O’Connor, Director of Collections & Access, National Museum of Ireland officially opened the striking collection of bronze, predominantly figurative works, exploring themes of human vulnerability and endurance, which capture personal and collective experiences of loss, change and resilience.
