On what felt like the first official day of spring, Brown Thomas presented its SS25 collection, Portrait of Style, with highlights from international designers including Victoria Beckham, Erdem, Loewe, Dries Van Noten and Christian Dior.
A bright and colourful season lies ahead. Key trends include bold, statement-making colours from Dries Van Noten and Victoria Beckham. Fresh takes on florals, ranging from darker colour palettes (Erdem, Ulla Johnson) to brighter, floatier styles at Zimmermann and Chloé.
Sharp, smart tailoring was shown by The Row and Loewe while a gentler approach was taken by Cecilie Bahnsen and Bite Studios, with soft tulle layers complete with dresses layered over trousers.
JW Anderson’s feminine dresses were toughened up with Chloé’s combat boots, and prim and pretty 1960s-style shift dresses from Alessandro Michelle’s latest collection for Valentino. Exquisite embellished blazers by Erdem and Dries Van Noten were a standout.
New brands for the season include Phoebe Philo, The Frankie Shop, The Garment and Bite Studios, all arriving to Brown Thomas this month.
The Georgian rooms at the Merrion Hotel offered the perfect setting for guests to enjoy a champagne arrival and live music by the D-strings trio before the show, while artist Sarah O’Dea, busy at work on stage in the centre of proceedings, revealed the results of her live portrait by the time the models took their final walk, offering a true portrait of style.
