JW Anderson invited guests for a Guinness at his Soho store in London to launch the new JW Anderson X Guinness collection …
A smiling pint on a cotton T-shirt. A pearl-effect jersey, embroidered to recreate the creamy Guinness head. A sweater mixing Guinness iconography with the signature playful approach Jonathan Anderson is known for. Earlier this year, JW Anderson unveiled his collaboration with Guinness during Milan Fashion Week.
For Jonathan, working with Guinness allowed him to explore and experiment with some of the brand’s most celebrated imagery: “I’ve always been obsessed by Guinness and their brand. I think they are still today one of the greatest advertisers and I liked this idea of using their amazing graphics. I’ve always wanted to be able to show some of it because in fashion we think we are so radical but, actually, Guinness was way before all of that.”
To launch the collection, JW Anderson invited guests to his Soho store before heading to The Devonshire for a private dinner with friends. Attendees included Caitriona Balfe, Joe Alwyn, Jenna Coleman, Jonathan Bailey, Asa Butterfield, Ellie Bamber, Paapa Essiedu, Connor Swindells, Sebastian Croft, Nia DaCosta and Alexa Chung, among others.
The evening concluded with a party thanks to DJ Annie Mac, where guests enjoyed a selection of Guinness and cocktails throughout the night.
