Close to €200,000 raised for the cause …
This year’s sold-out fundraising event, sponsored by Porsche Centre Dublin, at Leopardstown Pavilion in Dublin 18 saw almost 450 friends and supporters of the community gather for the annual racing meet to support research, education and awareness programmes.
MC Miriam O’Callaghan, a long-standing supporter of Breast Cancer Ireland’s work, hosted alongside a Racing TV presenter sharing betting tips to discerning guests eager to bet selectively.
After a three-course meal, the Best Dressed winners were announced as judged by Ambassador Lorraine Keane, founder of Fashion Relief pre-loved boutique in Blackrock, and James Kelly of Louis Copeland & Sons. The stylish winners both nailed sartorial racing looks and won a pampering day at Frascati Centre and a bespoke suit, respectively.
Auctioneer Tadgh Dooley of Goff’s managed bids for an array of money-can’t-buy prizes such as a trip to Lapland, the Grand Prix and a Chupi diamond ring, with an estimated €200,000 raised. Guests also enjoyed entertainment from award-winning band The Moogs.
Professor Arnie Hill, Chairman of Breast Cancer Ireland and Chairman, Department of Surgery, Beaumont Hospital presented an address outlining reasons for hope amid the improving landscape of treatments and therapies.
