There will be much for cinephiles to enjoy this month as Dublin International Film Festival launches. See all the guests who attended the preview …
The worlds of fashion and film are closely intertwined and with the buzzy awards season underway GLOSS staffers have been fixated on Cate Blanchett’s new film Tár – the tale of a power-tripping orchestral conductor that is a triumph of tailoring too. Sourced by costume designer Bina Daigeler who bought from labels such as The Row, Celine and Studio Nicholson, Blanchett wears a series of power shirts (masculine-cut, smart but loose) a Max Mara safari iteration of which she wore to the Critics’ Choice awards on Sunday. This no fuss, yet fabulous style – which echoes Sharon Stone’s red carpet appearance at the Oscars in 1998 – is on our moodboard for the numerous events popping up on our social calendar. We’re favouring Sharon Hoey’s asymmetrical Ben shirt from her Andtate range, as good worn with jeans or on trend maxi skirts.
There will be much for cinephiles to enjoy at the forthcoming Dublin International Film Festival taking place from February 23 to March 4. Festival director Grainne Humphreys hosted a preview of the multi-platform programme at a special event on Tuesday, February 7 at The Light House Cinema, Dublin 7.
