This slick neo-noir thriller set in the 1930s has impeccable credentials, and brings Raymond Chandler’s famous detective, Philip Marlowe to life. Booker prize winner John Banville has adapted the novel for the screen, writing under a pen name Benjamin Black. The film is directed by Neil Jordan, while Marlowe is played by (a slightly world-weary) Liam Neeson, in this his 100th film. There was a special screening of Marlowe in The Stella cinema, Rathmines, Dublin and the event was attended by Liam Neeson, Neil Jordan and the film’s producer Alan Moloney, in addition to Sky guests.
