Galway Bay Rugby Club recently hosted its inaugural Spring Ball in the Salthill Hotel. As Galway’s youngest rugby club, formed only 15 years ago, it has grown into Connacht’s third largest mini rugby club with over 350 mini and youth players.

The popular black tie event was hosted by Today FM presenter, Pamela Joyce. During supper, retired Irish rugby international and RTE pundit, Bernard Jackman entertained guests with his after-dinner speech. There were plenty of well-known Galway faces in attendance who danced the night away until the early hours, including newly appointed Connacht Head coach Pete Wilkins and his wife Sarah, former Irish International Johnny O’Connor, and Connacht legend Christian Short.

There were some amazing raffle and auction prizes. The grand auction prize of a Tag Heuer watch, sponsored by Hartmann Jewellers of Galway, sold for over €2,000! Other prizes included tickets and accommodation to the upcoming Ireland v England rugby match on Saturday, March 18, as well as signed Irish and Connacht jerseys and fabulous artwork.
