Dior Beauty hosted an intimate in-store event followed by dinner at Luttrellstown Castle …
Dior Beauty hit the town in style last night with a glamorous event to celebrate the luxurious new Dior Beauty boutique in Brown Thomas Grafton Street. It started in the boutique, and ended out at Luttrellstown Castle for dinner, where the elegant reception rooms are painted an entirely on-brand dove grey.
First, the training manager for Parfums Christian Dior, Karl Groenewald, who’s been with Dior for 25 years, talked us through the make-up and perfume highlights in the boutique. He is a mine of information, and passionate about the perfumes, which are founded on flowers grown in Dior’s own fields.
Dior’s Collection Privee is the premium line, a rainbow of eaux de parfums in colours from pale violet (Gris Dior) to golden Ambre Nuit. We are very intrigued by the perfume oils, too, from oud to jasmine, to wear by themselves or as a long-lasting base for other scents. We also spotted a Dior beauty advent calendar in store – a serious luxury.
How to dress your dining table, Dior-style? The mood at Luttrellstown was incredibly romantic and elegant, with a profusion of white flowers, from roses to peonies and tulips, down the centre of the table, lit by vast numbers of candles at different heights, from low fluted round candles to tall thin tapers in golden candelabras. A string trio in the corner provided background music – we heard Moonage Daydream at one point. Classic then, with a modern twist.
