IN PARTNERSHIP WITH CIRCLE CLUB
For the perfect gift for theatre lovers, which will elevate any visit to the Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, read on …
The line-up of shows and exclusive events taking place at Bord Gáis Energy Theatre in 2025 has just been announced; it’s full of must-see performances, cult classics and groundbreaking new works.
Brightening up those dark January evenings is Now That’s What I Call A Musical (January 21 to 24) starring ex-Eastender actress Nina Wadia and 1980s icon Sinitta. This is followed by the upbeat Olivier award-winnning & Juliet which combines chart-topping music by super producer Max Martin and a hilarious book by Schitts Creek writer David West Read (from February 25 to March 8).
Possibly the hottest tickets next summer are Tina: The Tina Turner Musical (May 27 to June 14), the Doris Day classic Calamity Jane (August 19 to 23) and the cult comedy Little Shop of Horrors (July 25 to August 9) and Matthew Bourne’s Swan Lake (May 20 to May 22).
A fitting finale for these musical performances is Moulin Rouge! The Musical (November 20 to January 11) – a must see next Christmas season, when Baz Luhrmann’s iconic film comes to life onstage. It’s been remixed in a new musical mash-up extravaganza and is a theatrical celebration of truth, beauty, freedom and, above all, love.
These are just some of the programme highlights that also includes electrifying live music, ground-breaking dance spectaculars, engaging talks and the very best of Irish theatre. The programme has been carefully created to deliver a diverse, one-of-a-kind experience for Irish audiences. Look out for firm favourites War Horse, Chicago, The Book of Mormon and the Irish debut of Stanley Kubrick’s Dr Strangelove (starring Steve Coogan), recently premiering in London’s West End.
As regulars of Bord Gáis Energy Theatre will know, booking a show in the Daniel Libeskind-designed space is a treat in itself. From the buzz of the foyer and a pre-show drink, to debriefing during the interval, there’s always a sense of occasion. One way to elevate the experience further is to invest in an annual Patron Circle membership to the Circle Club. This exclusive membership guarantees best in-house seats, in addition to access to the chic private lounge which is perfect for pre- or post-show drinks overlooking Grand Canal Square.
The décor of the Circle Club Lounge was inspired by the elegance of the Roaring Twenties. Red lacquered tabletops, graphic chevron carpets, jewel-toned club chairs, velvet banquettes and statement artwork all create a sense of exclusivity. Any midweek visit becomes an occasion, and any work-related stress dissolves as soon as guests are seated at their (posh) tables.
Whether you’re a regular theatre goer or someone who enjoys sharing experiences with friends and family, Circle Club memberships offers something for everyone (and is fully transferable to friends!). One of the most impressive benefits is an extensive show night menu curated by the Circle Club’s executive chef. Dinner is carefully choreographed with performances; two courses are served before the show begins, while dessert is waiting (with additional drinks) during the interval. It all works brilliantly. The menu, covering light bites to more substantial entrees, is served by attentive staff.
Membership options range from Patron Circle, perfect for two, to Directors Circle which offers fabulous client and corporate entertainment. Who wouldn’t want to impress clients with tickets to Michael Flatley’s Lord of the Dance? Or a Chris de Burgh concert? Or see acclaimed author Elizabeth Day, also famous for her podcast How to Fail?
While many gifts claim to “keep on giving”, membership to the Circle Club really does just that, making the recipients feel like VIPs on every single visit.
