Sienna Miller’s character Sophie Whitehouse’s life may be falling apart, but at least she’s got some fantastic cashmere. If, like us, you binged psychological thriller Anatomy Of A Scandal over the weekend you may also have a newfound fascination with Miller’s Sloane-y makeover. The clothes worn by Miller in the Netflix drama – an adaptation of Sarah Vaughan’s 2018 novel of the same name – have already been dubbed the ‘wardrobe of the 1%’.
This certainly rings true – Miller who plays Sophie Whitehouse, the wife of an MP who becomes embroiled in a sex scandal – has a roll-call of luxurious (and dry-clean only) power pieces on rotation throughout the six-part series, not to mention a striking camel coat and a flutter of amazing knitwear. Costume designer Sam Perry called upon brands like The Row and Cefinn, the British clothing label that’s the brainchild of Samantha Cameron, to create a wardrobe that’s a lesson in quiet luxury. She is the queen of no makeup makeup and even manages to make a smokey eye look subtle. When everyone else was going for heavy contour and laminated eyebrows, she continued to promote enhancing your natural features with simple tricks and smart product placement. If you have seen any of her videos, you will notice how little product she actually uses. Even Victoria Beckham commented how surprised she was when she went to remove her makeup after a shoot with Lisa on how little product was applied.
