French Women Over 40 Always Have This One Key Piece In Their Wardrobes For Summer

We love French style and we love observing the wardrobes of French women over 40 – they have a confidence to their sartorial choices that is far more inspiring than the latest trend or owning an ‘it’ handbag. One thing we have noticed, after much scrolling, is that our Gallic counterparts lean on one piece in particular come summertime: a white or cream blazer. It’s no surprise really, boxy blazers are everywhere right now, that coupled with the Parisienne’s long-standing association with Le Smoking tuxedo jackets and it makes sense that this look would crop up all over our feeds. Finding the perfect white blazer isn’t easy (believe us, we’re always on the hunt for one): in some cases, shades of ivory or ecru look more expensive, the fabric needs to be weighty, not flyaway, to have any kind of structure (although linen mixes are preferable for this time of year) and the shape should be strong and slightly oversized without being OTT.
