5 Must-Book Food Events Happening this Summer

Everything tastes better in summer! Here are five food events that are guaranteed to tantalise your tastebuds over the coming weeks…

The Salt Project

For those who didn’t make it to the Taste of Dublin with the sole intention of trying food from The Salt Project chef, Caomhán de Brí, I can tell you that you missed out – big time. The good news is, it’s never too late and the upcoming collaboration between Caomhán and Kevin Wallace, of New Leaf Urban Farmers is definitely one for the food lover’s diary. Friday 5th and Saturday 6th August will see de Brí bring his plant focused fine dining to the masses, hosting two long table ‘Salt of the Earth’ pop-up dinner experiences at Limericks New Leaf Urban Farmers in Ballyneety. The meal will consist of a 5 course extravaganza and given that Caomhán recently graduated from TU Dublin’s new Botanical Cuisine course you can be assured that the phrase ‘farm to fork’ will take on an entirely new meaning. Tickets are €95; you can purchase here.

D-8TE Dining at Roe & Co

This weekend sees the beginning of AA’s Caribbean pop up at Roe & Co as part of their summer dining series. AA’s Caribbean is one of the most popular pop-up food experiences in Dublin and when paired with carefully curated Roe & Co cocktails, the result will never be anything but delicious. On July 21st, La Cocina Cuevas takes over with their tantalising tacos and in August, Banh Mi fans should consider booking ahead for the Vietnom residency… www.roeandcowhiskey.com

The Rosé Garden at Café en Seine will offer a dreamy setting to reflect and socialise in aesthetic style and comfort. Expect stunning floral displays, picture-perfect detailing and pastel palettes to create an experience of true summer in the heart of Dublin. www.cafeenseine.ie

Denis Cotter at Overends Kitchen

A meeting of minds is one way to describe the collaboration between Denis Cotter of renowned Cork vegetarian restaurant Paradiso and the team at Overends Kitchen who aim to produce a vegetarian celebration of wonderful produce straight from the restaurant’s beautiful base at Airfield Estate. The collaboration with Denis (July 22nd and August 26th) marks the first in a series of pop-up events at Overends Kitchen with more guest chefs due to be announced soon. www.airfield.ie
