Blue floral-print Holly organic cotton dress, €325, Niamh O’Neill (launching May 7)

Niamh O’Neill is an Irish fashion designer who designs classic yet modern clothing with a butterfly-light touch. Following on from her successful collaboration with sustainability advocate Holly White last year, the duo have co-created a very pretty organic cotton summer dress. “Holly and I wanted to design a dress that was versatile, and one that you can wear during the day, as well as to events and summer occasions,” designer Niamh O’Neill told us. “We share the same ethics and aesthetics and value beautiful, timeless and versatile pieces that are both wearable and pretty. This is one of those dresses you will live in all summer long,” according to vegan chef and co-creator Holly White. The Holly Dress is €325 and is available from this Saturday at www.niamhoneill.com and Arnotts.

Ocean blue Easy Feeling Shacket, €225, at April Rose Murphy

Based in Co Donegal, fashion designer April Rose Murphy conceived of her namesake label this year and has just launched her website www.aprilrosemurphy.ie. The young designer’s collections are centred around using Irish linen and handwoven Donegal tweed, with all pieces made in Donegal. Murphy’s oversized shirts are modern classics. Cut from breathable linen, they have a masculine cut and come in a range of colours. Style yours with jeans and loafers all summer long.

Zodiac print silk scarf, €150, at Georgina O’Hanlon Illustration (launching May 17)

An NCAD graduate, illustrator Georgina O’Hanlon isn’t shy about her love of print and pattern. Her silk scarf collection is designed in Ireland and manufactured in Italy by world-leading silk experts. O’Hanlon’s fine art, hand-drawn giclée prints are developed here with a leading carbon neutral printer. Her vibrant prints take inspiration from the Irish landscape and her first full collection of silk scarves explores memories of childhood summers in the west of Ireland with her mother, Josephine. Launching online on May 17; www.georginaohanlonillustration.com.

Snow Peraga cashmere sweater, €545, at Castanea

Irish luxury knitwear label Castanea’s latest cashmere collection for SS22 is designed to replicate emotions so that you can feel your most comfortable, confident and authentic self wherever you happen to be, at home or abroad. This season, designer and founder Paula Marron has embraced a palette of nature-inspired shades: from butternut and jute to cherry blossom, cloud and clay. “With a velvety finish, these dulcet tones have a gentle warmth reminiscent of home comforts,” she says. www.castanea.ie

From a selection at Om Diva boutique and www.byjenbyrne.com

We spotted Jen Byrne’s beautiful blouses and accessory collars in Om Diva’s Atelier 27 last week. With a strong focus on sustainability, each piece is reimagined from vintage textiles – think lace tablecloths transformed into skirts, vintage Laura Ashley fabrics re-created as shirts, old punt coins that become charming necklaces. The pretty printed blouses are perfect for summer – and the sweet collars (with prices from €40) would make a gorgeous keepsake gift for someone special, all while supporting a small local business and sustainable Irish design. www.byjenbyrne.com
