Everything You Need to Know About Brown Thomas SS20

“Curated for the modern woman, effortless dressing continues into SS20 with minimal details, clean lines and a feminine sensibility coming to the fore,” says Brown Thomas Fashion Director Shelley Corkery, as she launched the spring summer collections today at the Douglas Hyde Gallery at Trinity College, wearing Christian Dior. While the show was filled with occasionwear (dramatic dark florals by Erdem, full-length flowing gowns by Roksanda, signature floral kaftans by Richard Quinn) there was a sprinkling of classic and wearable looks that caught our eye – most notably from Bottega Veneta, Loewe and Victoria Beckham. New brands to look out for this season include Khaite (of Katie Holmes cardigan fame), Totême and Mugler.

Below find a selection of standout looks from the Brown Thomas SS20 show:

Dries Van Noten opened the show with exquisite embellished and embroidered coats.

The classic trench was updated with leather detailing by Sportmax (as above) and Bottega Veneta, while Hungarian brand Nanushka produced a full black vegan leather trench.

Dior’s beautiful prints stole the show. In their first look, a full length shawl was draped across the model’s body worn with matching shirt and pleated skirt below.

Roksanda’s suit, made from a flecked grey jersey fabric, was worn with a sweatshirt underneath and a thick white jersey roll neck under that. Comfortable and chic when paired with Malone Soulier nude kitten heels.

Victoria Beckham’s tobacco and cobalt blue colour combo caught our eye.

Update your classic suit with a shoestring thin leather belt as spotted at Bottega Veneta.

New for this season, Mugler made a case for the hourglass blazer. Our advice? Swap the bicycle shorts for slim fit trousers, cropped at the ankle.
