On how Ireland inspires, how she keep paces with the industry and what’s coming next …
What’s new? “We’ve just launched our innovative new day cream, Age Defence, building on our work with DNA repair enzymes which are proven to restore damaged DNA to health. We’ve invested heavily in clinical trials on gene-expression research to show measurable outcomes, which is rare in the cosmetic space.”
How do you stay relevant in a crowded market, and keep pace with trends? “We only focus on the science. By staying close to dermatology research, collaborating with leading academics and ensuring each product is backed by robust clinical data. We want to cut through the noise with credibility.”

What impact does your location or environment have on the brand? “The Irish climate and the day to day cumulative UV exposure that we all get is entirely the basis for the protection and repair mechanisms that are built into the formulations. This is about skin health, nourishing and protecting your skin for the long haul. For us that is the essence of skin longevity; the cosmetic benefits are a welcome side-effect but our north star is to prolong and improve skin health. Our weather can be especially harsh on skin day to day, which is why Age Defence was designed as a reparative shield: to protect, repair and fortify against the elements.”
What’s next for 2026? “We will be expanding our product range but staying true to our science-first roots. We’re working on products and clinical trials with the University of Manchester team. Our core focus is formulations that target the molecular drivers of skin ageing, with improved delivery mechanisms and of course tolerability. Alongside this, we are growing our partnerships with clinics and investing in educational initiatives, positioning The Skin Diary not only as a skincare brand but also as a trusted educational resource for healthy ageing.”
What’s your favourite Irish brand right now? “Ireland has an exciting wave of innovation right now. I particularly admire Jennifer Rock: not only has she developed a brilliant range in Skingredients, but she’s also consistently championed other products and voices within the industry. She has a gift for breaking down the science of skincare in a way that makes it accessible, empowering people to really understand their skin.
