Dior Launches Boutique at Brown Thomas And Reveals Irish Design Link

a new Dior boutique at Brown Thomas opens today. Here’s a sneak peek …

Christian Dior once said: “Women, with their intuitive instinct, understood that I dreamed not only of making them more beautiful, but happier too.”

Beauty may be subjective, but happiness is certainly one thing to be derived from the news of a Dior boutique opening its doors today at Brown Thomas, Dublin. It marks the first time the French heritage brand has opened an Irish store.

Christian Dior once said: “Women, with their intuitive instinct, understood that I dreamed not only of making them more beautiful, but happier too.”

accessorise all areas

The boutique will focus on accessories from the Dior stable. Namely, belts, scarves and sunglasses from the Dior 2022 Cruise collection. (The Cruise show took place in Athens, melding ancient Greek femininity and urban leisurewear.)

jewels to love

Magpies will delight in the curation of the brand’s emblematic jewellery. Think: chunky rings and delicate bracelets all carrying the rarefied CD logo. But, perhaps, the selection of It handbags on sale will take pride of place in the new space. The boutique will sell the Dior Book tote, the Dior Caro tote and the now-iconic Lady Dior tote.

the legacy of Lady Dior – and the irish connection

In an apt turn of events, Irish artist Genieve Figgis – who counts Marc Jacobs and Simone Rocha as super-fans – has been commissioned by the house of Dior to reinterpret three Lady Dior bags for a 2022 collection. The collaboration sprung from the Dior Lady Project; an initiative started by the brand’s Italian creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri. Figgis’ art has reached a new audience via Instagram, where the Wicklow-based creative has close to a 100k following. The pieces will be available to purchase through the brand’s site from January of next year.
