Good news: After its sell-out success last year, Powerscourt Distillery has announced that its decadent and indulgent food and whiskey pairing hampers are back for Christmas 2021.

The food and whiskey pairing originally started as a Distillery tour, however it proved so popular that last year they put together the hampers in time for the Christmas gifting market. Santina Kennedy, the Distillery’s in-house Food Historian and Food & Beverage Specialist, created the hampers not only for the discerning whiskey drinker but the new whiskey drinker who wants to enjoy, be educated, and experience the spirit of Ireland in a delicious way.

Kennedy, who holds an MA in Gastronomy and Food Studies from TU Dublin, drew on her research and on her years of experience running her own award-winning food business. Making up some of the goodies inside the hamper is charcuterie from the Wooded Pig, Olly’s Farm local honey courtesy of Powerscourt Estate, Wicklow Ban Cheese and Fercullen Whiskey Chocolates. Kennedy was careful to match all the artisan produce with the 8-year-old, 10-year-old and 14-year-old award winning Fercullen whiskeys.

In addition, each hamper comes with a QR code giving the recipient a link to watch a pre-recorded presentation with Kennedy on how to enjoy best your whiskey tasting and food pairing journey. Truly a marriage made in gastronomic heaven!
