This New-to-Arnotts Label Nails Copenhagen Chic

Copenhagen favourite stella nova has just landed at arnotts.

THE BRAND: It seems like every day there’s yet another Danish dresser to crush over, or indeed a new Copenhagen-based label to love. And while we can’t wait to plan our next trip to the Danish city, there’s a bevy of chic Scandinavian brands to tide us over in the meantime. Cue: Stella Nova. The Copenhagen-based label, which is new and exclusive to Arnotts for autumn winter 21, is here to inject a little playfulness into your autumn wardrobe. Here are five reasons to give the brand some air time.

1. The Quilting is Danish Dressing at its Best

The trend for quilted clothing (that’s right, like the throw blanket at the foot of your bed from days of yore) has been simmering away for a while now. And, while we’re never keen to jump on a trend without considering the cost per wear or indeed the longevity of it, there’s something about the quilted pieces by Stella Nova that move us. Perhaps it’s the versatility: see the Mabel cherry blouse, which also doubles as a light jacket.

2. It’s All About Colour

A pop of orange on denim, a clashing cherry print: the Stella Nova look is pretty extra. Wallflowers need not fear, however. Key pieces can be tempered to suit a muted wardrobe or a specific colour palette. We suggest you choose one statement colour to work around; mix and match with your favourite denims or neutral tones.

3. The Collars Are Majestic

If you carry a torch for an XL collar, this is the brand for you. The autumn drop features many a Peter Pan collar – perfect for layering under a fine knit jumper as the chill kicks in. Let’s not forget the oh-so-elegant scallop edge trims, either.

4. Go With a Knit

Be it a turquoise blue or a pastel yellow the knitwear is as playful as you’d expect from a Danish brand. If you’re feeling quite extra, we’d prescribe a statement sweater vest in alpaca-wool (209).

5. There’s a Good Mix of Dresses

We like the array of dress shapes. A midi-dress that kicks just below the knee, a drop-waist dress with a micro-hem, or a cinched denim dress that will hug an hourglass shape allow you to go as laid-back, as androgynous or as feminine as you please.
