Who remembers going out for cocktails? The debate over where to go and which cocktail to order. Waiting somewhat impatiently for it to be served and the sigh of happiness as you take the first sip after a long and arduous week. As Maurice Chevalier would say: “Ah yes, I remember it well.”
Sadly, those days are on pause for now, but there is no reason why we shouldn’t enjoy these occasional indulgences while supporting local businesses from our own homes. To have your very own cocktail hour at home, consider skipping all the preparation and have everything delivered to your door.
In Dublin, The Blind Pig Speakeasy built a reputation on the secrecy of its location, now however, it will come to you. There is also a selection of wines, bottled beers, a selection of bar bites and even pizza available to order. Prices start at €9. www.theblindpig.ie
