DINING: The Boathouse Bistro aces natty nautical decor, a moreish seafood menu created by chef Mark Johnston and a sun-drenched terrace. I’d happily return to work through the entire menu.

DO: Book a private viewing of the 1890s Manor House, used exclusively for weddings. Slick and stylish, it includes an “I Do” Pavilion, historic panelled Oak Room and reception rooms. Also meet Holly McQuillan, head gardener, who is implementing long-term plans to turn Dromquinna into a destination garden. Use the amenities which include a boules pitch, barbecues, table tennis, a yoga pavilion, Games Room and sauna. Use your Ireland’s Blue Book vouchers; Dromquinna is a member.
DON’T: Miss taking the Cliff Walk which hugs the coast, perfect for sunrise salutations and sea dips. Don’t leave without a visit to the Gift Shop where its savvy edit is catnip for shoppers.
