Books On My Bedside Table: What Is Karin Slaughter Reading?

Author Karin Slaughter on the books she’s reading now

Karin Slaughter is an international bestselling author, having sold more than 40 million copies. She’s written more than 20 Sunday Times bestselling novels, including Cop Town. The original series of her bestselling book, Pieces of Her, debuted at number one on Netflix worldwide, and The Good Daughter is in development, set to star Rose Byrne and Meghann Fahy. She lives in Atlanta, Georgia.

I Came Back For You by Kate White. A wrenching and raw story about a mother who loses her daughter to a violent crime, and her search for the truth about what really happened. This one will keep you turning pages through the night.

Served Him Right by Lisa Unger. A missing ex and a deadly brunch are the starting point for this wickedly dark and pacey revenge story. Lisa Unger is one of my favourites.

The Calamity Club by Kathryn Stockett. Set in Mississippi in the 1930s, this is the story about an eleven-year-old girl who has been left at an orphanage and is waiting for her mother to come back and collect her. This is a big-hearted book with richly drawn and unforgettable characters.

Claire McCardell: The Designer Who Set Women Free by Elizabeth Evitts Dickinson. The biography of the designer who revolutionised pockets … for women! McCardell was a visionary fashion designer who brought innovation, style and function to her clothing line. The story of this artist is fascinating.

London Falling by Patrick Radden Keefe. A riveting true-crime investigation that begins with the mysterious death of a London teenager and unravels into a story of lies, oligarch fantasies, gangland figures and institutional failure. Following a grieving family’s search for answers, Keefe exposes the shadowy world beneath London’s glittering wealth while asking how far ambition, deception and the hunger for status can carry a person before everything collapses.”
