Irish creatives gathered at Fidelity Studio in Smithfield for an evening of music, Asian cuisine and excellent people-watching …
The worlds of music, style, tech and culture all combined for a diverse evening of scintillating conversation when Cities Without Houses (Soho House’s creative community in Dublin) hosted an intimate dinner at Fidelity Studio in Smithfield. Stylist Corina Gaffey and THE GLOSS Contributing Editor Sarah Macken mingled with model Thalia Heffernan and British multi-instrumentalist Cktrl.
Both musician and muse, Cktrl has collaborated on music for Kim Jones at Dior (as well as starring in Beyonce’s Black Is King film) and, on the evening, he gave a surprise and electrifying performance of three songs (wearing Dior, naturally) from his LP titled Yield. It was the perfect setting for it, as Fidelity Studio, an extension of Fidelity Bar on Smithfield’s Queen Street, is making waves as an experiential location for audiophiles. (Both the bar and the studio boast a state-of-the-art sound system and comprehensive acoustic treatment which promise a high-calibre audio experience.) Meanwhile, the low lighting and wood-panelled interior – punctuated by banks of custom-made white orb lights, created especially for the evening – brought to life a retro sense of luxury, alongside the tactile bamboo chairs (undoubtedly a nod to Soho Home’s louche, 1970s aesthetic).
As for the fashion, the mood was low-key cool. For men, streetwear-inspired separates reigned supreme. Think: white tees, athleisure nods and crisp shirting. For women: we spotted maximal prints, elegant tailoring and more than one pair of statement shoes that run the gamut from casual to high-octane. Think: old-school Adidas trainers, architectural, Tory Burch slingback mules and vertiginous heels with elegant embellishment.
The food was a talking point, too. Guests enjoyed a specially-created Asian inspired menu, crafted in collaboration with Sister7 at Fidelity and quaffed Soho House’s signature drinks: Eastern Standards and Picantes made with tequila, agave nectar, chilli pepper, lime and coriander.
