What’s on our beauty radar this week? …

Catwalk Style Prep
The Eve Lom team was behind the scenes at the Emilia Wickstead SS26 show, where we managed to get a sneak peek of the skin prep. We were intrigued to spot a gorgeous golden bottle in great demand: turns out that it’s the Eve Lom Time Retreat Restorative Skin Essence, a really lightweight first step on cleansed skin. The idea of time in any way “retreating” makes us snort somewhat, but this certainly feels restorative: it’s designed to hydrate and support the skin, meaning you get more out of your skincare. And it’s clinically proven to boost radiance and soften lines. “It’s formulated with a botanical retinol alternative, microbiome-balancing prebiotics and collagen-boosting actives,” the team tells us. We tried it out and find that it’s great for boosting radiance and giving skin a bit more bounce. One caveat – the bottle is too pretty to throw away – we wish it was refillable. €130, at SpaceNK.

Instant Great Skin
Everyone’s asking about the newly arrived Victoria Beckham Foundation Drops. Are they good? And can any face make-up really be worth €121 for just 30ml? Yes, that’s a small amount, though the packaging is neat and so chic. Admittedly, my favourite-ever foundation is Chanel’s Sublimage L’Essence de Teint Serum, €165 for 40ml, which I save for special occasions – it’s guaranteed to give you your best skin ever. I tried it out properly this week: recovering from a bad dose with blotchy, tired skin to prove it, I treated myself to a few sparing drops of the VB. Instant recovery. Wow. It’s like painting good skin onto the canvas of your face. Even stubborn darker patches are smoothed over, while the mighty Augustinus Bader skincare element means your skin feels hydrated and glowing too. I hate to say it, with the cost in mind, but it’s excellent. And when the Netflix doc on Victoria herself drops (who can resist?), we predict sales will soar even higher as the designer has certainly mastered the art of minimal make-up. Look out for her talented make-up artist, Francesca Abrahamovitch.

Nail Rescue
Come autumn, our nails can be in a pretty woeful state, dried-out and in need of some serious TLC. I’m really impressed with the 14 Day Mani Gel Break Nail Strengthener (€17) – having been dedicated to using it for a few weeks, I’m finding it really smoothes ridges and protects the nails, giving them a polished look. It’s good to take regular breaks from harsh gels and colours, and this is your solution in those downtimes for a natural yet groomed look. Gel Break is the nail equivalent of using good skincare and gets your nails in prime condition, ready for all those luscious berry shades that call our name at this time of year. Also try the new 14 Day Mani nail shades, such as Cloud Grey and Iced Latte.

Stay Golden
Azure Tan is the newest arrival on the crowded tan scene. Australia’s top professional spray tan brand, Azure offers a range of skincare-powered self-tanning options, from Extreme Dark Mousse (€24.95) – bound to be a hit here since dark tans are so popular – through to gradual tan lotions (€19.95). The Green Base Mousse (€24.95) is particularly interesting as it’s ideal for pale skin tones, creating an olive-toned tan rather than anything veering to orange. We particularly love this caramel-coloured Shimmering Tanning Butter, which has sun or winter holiday vibes. There’s a range of mitts and brushes for mastering the application. Azure Tan is available now in select beauty clinics nationwide, including Be U in Dublin and online.

Beauty Sleep
These pyjamas from M&S (€70) are destined to enhance our sleep. We love the creamy latte colour and easy to wear styling. While they’re described as satin, they’re actually made from a washable viscose. Plus there are cashmere socks to go with them (€40).
