Avoca, Mount Usher, Wicklow
If you’re looking for a fun-filled family day out, kids go free at Avoca, Mount Usher until April 16. You can enjoy a relaxing day in the garden haven at Mount Usher which overlooks the River Vartry, followed by a little stop off at Avoca’s delicious Garden Café. Children can eat for €11.50 and choose from a hot main, drink and sweet dessert to delight their sweet appetite. Next, a stroll through the store and food markets is always a treat, and you can pick up some of your favourite bits. Kildare Village, Co. Kildare
Not only is there a wide range of boutiques and dining experiences at Kildare Village, but there will be a host of fun, family activities taking place at The Village over midterm. With their Junior Einstein event and Easter bunny hunts, there is exciting events for all ages!
The Junior Einstein Science event will run from Thursday 6 April to Sunday 16 April, inclusive in The Lounge. The event inspires children to use their imagination, make a mess, explore, and discover all about science while adults can browse around the boutiques. Children get to dress up like the scientists they are with a science lab coat and goggles. The event is for children aged from five to twelve years and guests will need to book a space for each child. It is €5 per child for guests with Kildare Village membership and €10 for non-membership guests.
Running from Thursday 6 April to Monday 10 April the Lindt Gold Bunny Easter Hunt will delight and surprise guests. The hunt takes place throughout the whole of Kildare Village, it is really quite something. Easter egg props will be displayed throughout the Village with clues provided. Guests are invited to take part in the hunt, answer all the clues and go into The Lounge to redeem their prize. It really is the taking part that counts when everyone who does gets a Lindt Bunny! Spend the day there and enjoy a breakfast, lunch or dinner with Saba, Sprout, Dunne & Crescenzi, L’Officina and more on offer. Don’t forget to browse a little and reimagine your spring wardrobe!
The Easter Emporium at Liffey Valley Shopping Centre, Dublin 22
Liffey Valley Shopping Centre is celebrating the return of their Easter Emporium. The Emporium is running from Wednesday 5 April to Saturday 8 April, and is hosted in partnership with Butlers Chocolates. The free Easter craft workshops will take place between 12 noon and 4pm and will host little shoppers for a crafty afternoon. The guests will learn how to reuse, redesign and repurpose everyday items using art materials from their reuse partners ReCreate to create themed decorations. This is a clever workshop to introduce young people to the idea of creative reuse of waste materials by making something new and unique. Also, all participants will take home a scrumptious Butlers Chocolates Easter Egg! Amazing! Airfield Estate, Dublin
Throughout the Easter holidays, Airfield Estate has organised a new scavenger hunt designed to help you discover treasures around the farm you may not have noticed before and kids go for free. You can pick up a trail sheet on arrival, work your way around the estate and drop your findings at the welcome table on your way home to receive a special sticker. A day out at Airfield is a great idea to get outside and keep the whole family entertained, with all there is to do and see there, like visiting the new lambs! Easter at Farmleigh house is a special place to be. From April 9 starting at 10am to April 10 at 5pm, Farmleigh is organising a host of exciting activities to hop into. There will be an Easter plant fair in the paddocks, a farmers market, music in the pleasure bands, which includes the Blanchardstown Brass Band on Easter Sunday, the Teddy Bear Vet where children can check up on their teddy bears with x rays, bandaging, general care and even surgery (sew and mend) and more!
