5 Food and Drink Events to Book This November

These five food and drink events are not to be missed this month …

November. That in between month when Halloween is a distant memory but it’s too soon to start any serious festive socialising. It’s a strange time when we are on the precipice of Christmas mayhem but not quite there yet. Need some gentle diversion? These five food and drink events will steer you through.

Game Night Supper Club at The g Hotel, Galway

The third in a series of fine dining supper clubs by The g Hotel, Game Night will be hosted by head chef Dom Majecki and plans to be a celebration of Majecki’s (and local suppliers’) love of foraging and game. The menu on the evening will be paired with wines from Les Deux Cols vineyard and given that the event takes place on Thanksgiving, the theme will focus on shared platters with some theatrical dining to mark the occasion. The festivities kick off with wine and canapés on arrival followed by a curated menu showcasing the best of game and foraging in the west of Ireland. The event takes place on November 24 and tickets are priced at €125. www.theghotel.ie

Chef Swap at Aniar, Galway

Danish chef Bo Bech (aka The Alchemist) is the latest chef to take part in the Chef Swap at Aniar in Galway. Bech will join Aniar chef-patron JP McMahon in the kitchen in on Saturday November 19 for one night only to create a 20-course tasting menu which will be a collaboration between the two Michelin-starred chefs. Bech trained under industry rock starts such as Marco Pierre White, Michel Roux, Alain Senderens and Alain Passard so we expect great things from this formidable duo. The 20-course tasting menu costs €135 per person with the optional wine pairing, €75. www.aniarrestaurant.ie

Anna Haugh at The Conrad, Dublin 2

Dublin native Anna Haugh returns to her hometown for a stint at The Conrad Hotel. Haugh will be a familiar name to many, in part due to the success of her London restaurant, Myrtle, but also her appearances on Masterchef, Saturday Kitchen and Ready Steady Cook. Described as a modern Irish fine dining experience, the menu promises to celebrate and showcase the best of Irish produce and suppliers while offering traditional Irish dishes with a modern twist. www.annahaughatconraddublin.com
