5 Fashionable Pop-Ups, Collaborations And New Stores In Ireland

Just in time for the change in season …

Barbour FARM Rio | Pop-Up, Brown Thomas Dublin

The Barbour FARM Rio collaboration is a match made in heaven, fusing the heritage British brand with Brazilian flair. The collection features three exclusive prints with tropical flora and fauna motifs contrasted against Barbour’s family tartans. The campaign stars model and actress Imogen Waterhouse (younger sister to Suki) in the bucolic Cotswolds, which we love. Pop into level two of Brown Thomas on Grafton Street to see for yourself. @officialbrownthomas

Taippe x Pellador Pop-Up, Fade Street Studios, Dublin

The coolest collaboration for Irish street style enthusiasts is Taippe x Pellador – or as they’re cleverly called, Taippellador. Pellador is a growing Irish clothing brand, creating knitwear and sportswear inspired by Irish sporting heritage, while Taippe specialises in tailored pieces that focus on slow and sustainable fashion. Taippe was born out of the friendship between Portugese founder Matilde and Irish fashion designer Molly Walters, making the connection with Pellador an obvious choice. Both brands share a gender neutrality that makes them an exciting match. Expect Pellador jumpers with Taippe’s refined finish, tartan tracksuits, outerwear and everyday wear to suit all tastes. Ones to watch … @taippe.pt @pellador_

Arket, Dawson Street, Dublin

Nordic high street giant Arket finally opened its first store in Ireland, with the flagship Dublin location at the intersection of some of our favourite streets in Dublin 2. THE GLOSS team may or may not have been part of the initial vast footfall since its opening, with the Arket Café so full that takeaway coffee and pastries were the only option to bring back to the office! The opening was well timed with the new season and plenty of autumn fashion to add to our wishlist. For the back to work rush, we’re coveting something different for nine-to-five dressing. As for denim, the latest styles lean into curved legs, while outerwear is all about macs and barn jackets. From womenswear, menswear, kidswear and homeware, our Arket appetite has been sated … for now.

Topshop | McElhinneys, Co Donegal

Topshop is making a quiet return to Ireland for its second iteration, with McElhinneys in Donegal the only stockist for now. McElhinneys in Ballybofey announced on social media that it will be home to the first physical Topshop in Ireland since the retail giant closed its doors five years ago. Online retailer ASOS bought Topshop in 2021 from Philip Green’s collapsed Arcadia group, along with its Topman, Miss Selfridge and HIIT brands; selling the majority of its stake to Danish company Bestseller last year. Topshop’s collections are also available to order from McElhinneys online as topshop.com doesn’t deliver to Ireland yet. Watch this space! @mcelhinneys

Urban Outfitters, St Patrick’s Street, Co Cork

Urban Outfitters is launching its first store in Cork, marking its second in Ireland after Dublin. Housed in a striking historic building, the store will span over 5,000 square feet across two trading floors. What to expect? A host of brands including Urban Outfitters Masterbrand, BDG, Kimchi Blue, Loom and Ayker, among many others. Customers are invited to the new location on September 17 for a pop-up marketplace, live customisation and letter embroidery, an evening of music and exclusive drinks by Beamish – a Cork speciality, of course. @urbanoutfitters
